The mission of the Horse and Child Civic Association, which was established in 1994, is to bring to life the idea of providing high-quality hippotherapy for handicapped children and equestrian sport for healthy children. The organisation was the first in this field to receive funding from the Charter 77 Foundation and through the Phare Programme. The hippo centre in Miskovice near Kutná Hora is designed as an integrated facility in line with foreign models and covers humanitarian, sports as well as ecological programmes. In 2003 and 2005, hippotherapy was integrated as part of the Horse for Pleasure and Health project. 

Horse and Child is an association for hippotherapy and hippo rehabilitation, and is focused on working with the handicapped, offering special programmes for groups 5 or more, as well as offering the services of a riding school and organising summer camps.

The complex includes a clubhouse, with wheelchair access and toilet facilities, and parking.
