Route Map For Wheelchair Users

We have selected a wheelchair accessible route in one of the most beautiful cities in the Czech Republic for you!

Some of us find it very difficult to visit interesting cities and places. Kutná Hora is a dream destination of many tourists, which is why we have decided to help those who must overcome barriers on a daily basis.

Historical cities tend to be difficult terrain for people in wheelchairs, people with reduced mobility, but also for mothers with prams. For this reason, we have also decided to at least partially help these tourists in deciding whether they can visit Kutná Hora without worries. We have identified and documented a route that will facilitate, as far as possible, the movement around the silver city for people using electric as well as manual wheelchairs. This route is plotted on a well arranged little map, accompanied by a series of detailed pictures of the entire route. Every street along the route is photographed in such a way as to give wheelchair-bound tourists the opportunity to at least visually scope out the terrain before travelling to Kutná Hora.

This map shows two circuits. The first circuit (blue line) is a route through the centre of Kutná Hora. For those interested, we have also plotted a second circuit (red line), which leads from the tourist information centre in Kutná Hora (Sedlec) to the city’s historical centre.

Most of the route has wheelchair accessible ramps onto footpaths, but some of the city‘s streets, sadly, still have barriers. We have plotted these on the map already mentioned, so that wheelchair users are aware of these sections in advance and can take a detour by road around this obstacle (dashed line). The first circuit (around the city’s centre) is approximately 2.77 km long. The second circuit (from Sedlec to the city‘s centre) is approximately 2.5 km long.

The map also shows historical buildings that are accessible by wheelchair, and wheelchair accessible accommodation and parking facilities.

The following sights are accessible for wheelchair users: St Barbara's CathedralJesuit College - Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK)Ossuary.

Kutná Hora and its surroundings offer more, with one of the few Czech wheelchair accessible lookout towers rising above the silver town on Kaňk Hill. After looking out from the terrace of the so-called. “Hewer’s Hut“ (Havířská bouda), even wheelchair users will become convinced that “one day is not enough“ to see Kutná Hora and its surroundings"!
