A relief of the poet Emil Frída, who was inspired to use the pseudonym Jaroslav Vrchlický by the local creek and the season of spring, a time during which he visited Kutná Hora, looms in the sandstone wall of the rock above the Vrchlice Creek. Josef Chvojan, a sculptor from Kutná Hora, hewed the poet’s relief into the sandstone rock in 1919, seven years after his death. 

The Royal Walk, which is a trail for pedestrians and cyclists leading upstream along the Vrchlice Creek, affords a magnificent view to these important city landmarks – the Cathedral of St Barbara, the Jesuit College, the Czech Museum of Silver - Hrádek, the Church of St James and the Italian Court.
